The number of observations belonging to a particular value, category or class.
Revise: Data grouping implicationsGrouping summarises the observations by recording how many fall into each category or numerical interval. These counts are called frequencies. A shorter table can make the distribution clearer: you can see where values are concentrated and spot patterns more easily.
