Revise: ConfidentialityConfidentiality is closely connected to privacy: people should have control over access to their personal lives and information. Researchers have a responsibility to protect participants’ identities and records even when they have not explicitly promised confidentiality.
Explain why confidentiality matters, rather than simply saying that researchers should keep information secret: link it to privacy, possible consequences of disclosure and trust.
