Revise: Research and Political Key TermsNeo-liberalism favours free-market capitalism, fewer government restrictions on business (deregulation) and reduced government spending, giving markets a greater role than state provision. Neo-conservatism instead stresses preserving traditional values within society's norms and values. The New Right draws on both: it favours a smaller state and a larger role for markets, supports traditional values and criticises reliance on welfare benefits.
