Deviant subculture

In Becker’s account, this career is completed when the person joins an organised deviant group that develops a deviant subculture. The group offers acceptance and shared beliefs and values that rationalise, justify and support deviant identities and behaviour. Members may also learn ways of continuing their activities from one another.
