Revise: Weberian Theory of StratificationWeber therefore distinguished class, status and party. These dimensions can reinforce one another: someone may be wealthy, respected and politically influential. However, they do not always coincide.
Distinguish class (market situation), status (prestige) and party (organised pursuit of power). They can overlap, but are not interchangeable.
Do not assume that everyone who earns a salary has the same class position: skills and demand for those skills affect market situation.
