Access to research subjects

Access to research subjects means being able to reach the people a sociologist wants to study and secure their participation. For observation, it can also mean entering the group's setting and being accepted there. Access is a practical issue because research cannot proceed as planned if the people needed are unavailable or unwilling to cooperate.
