Tabarra

Tabarra, also called tabarri, means disassociating oneself from the enemies of Allah, Muhammad and his family, including those who oppose or harm them. It complements tawalla: commitment to those regarded as guides to truth involves rejecting allegiance to those regarded as opposing that truth.

Tabarra is the duty to express disapproval of evil-doers and dissociate oneself from those who oppose Allah and his chosen leaders. Its purpose is to maintain moral integrity rather than become involved in wrongdoing. Qur’an 58:22 links faith with refusing allegiance to those who oppose Allah and his Messenger.
