Stereotype

A stereotype can connect the two. For example, assuming that women are unsuitable leaders is a prejudiced attitude; refusing to consider a woman for leadership simply because she is a woman puts that attitude into practice.

Prejudice means forming an opinion about someone before knowing them. It often relies on a stereotype: assuming that every member of a group has the same qualities. Racial prejudice judges people by their perceived race, colour or ethnic background rather than their individual character or behaviour.
