Paper 1
Revise: Society of Saint Vincent de PaulThe Society of Saint Vincent de Paul (SVP) is a Catholic organisation dedicated to tackling poverty and disadvantage. Its purpose is to put Catholic Social Teaching into action: beliefs about the dignity of people and responsibility towards others should shape what Catholics actually do.
For ‘Give two aims of the SVP’, state two distinct aims, such as providing practical assistance to people in need and tackling the causes of poverty.
When explaining importance, connect a specific activity to its effect and to Catholic belief, rather than simply saying that the SVP ‘helps people’.
