Revise: Attitudes to Holy WarSant-Sipahi means saint-soldier. The ‘saint’ develops devotion, humility, self-control and compassion; the ‘soldier’ has the courage to defend those who cannot defend themselves. Neither side is enough on its own.
Link Sant-Sipahi to both spiritual discipline and defending the oppressed, rather than describing only an armed warrior.
