GCSE Religious Studies · key term
Religious worship undertaken by an individual rather than as part of a congregation, using set prayers or personal words.
Used by AQA
Paper 1
Revise: Private WorshipPrivate prayer is prayer undertaken by an individual rather than with a congregation. It can involve established prayers or a person's own words. Someone might follow a familiar prayer of thanksgiving, or speak personally to God about a worry and ask for help.
Private prayer can use set prayers or personal words; it does not necessarily mean unstructured prayer.
