Revise: Origins of the UniverseNon-literalist Christians understand Genesis as teaching religious truths through symbolic language, rather than providing a scientific timetable. The six days may represent much longer periods, or the account may express the order and purpose of creation without specifying its duration.
Explain each view with a reason or teaching: naming ‘literalist’ and ‘non-literalist’ alone does not explain the contrast.
