Karah prashad

At the completion, the Anand Sahib and a concluding Ardas are recited, and karah prashad, a sweet food, is distributed. Local traditions differ over the final scriptural composition read, but the central practice remains an uninterrupted reading of the whole scripture.

Karah prashad, sweet blessed food, is shared with those present. Sharing it expresses God’s blessing and the equal worth of members of the congregation. It is distinct from the larger communal meal provided through langar.
