Revise: Festivals and CommemorationsId-ul-Fitr is the festival of fast-breaking, marking the end of Ramadan. Ramadan is the month of fasting, during which Muslims practise self-discipline and devotion to Allah. The festival begins with the sighting of the new moon marking the end of the month.
Keep the festivals distinct: Id-ul-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan; Id-ul-Adha remembers Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son.
Distinguish the two Id festivals: Id-ul-Fitr follows Ramadan; Id-ul-Adha remembers Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son and is linked to Hajj.
