GCSE Religious Studies · key term
Personal prayer or supplication addressed directly to Allah.
Used by AQA and Eduqas
Paper 1
Personal prayer or supplication to Allah, rather than the prescribed ritual of salah.
Revise: SalahSalah differs from du'a, personal prayer in which a Muslim may ask Allah for help or express gratitude. The prescribed pattern of salah provides regular discipline, while du'a allows personal concerns to be expressed directly.
