Grihastha

Marriage traditionally begins grihastha, the householder stage of life. The couple undertake responsibilities such as earning a living, caring for one another, raising children and supporting the wider community. Dharma means duty or right living; responsibilities towards a spouse, family and community form part of this religious understanding of relationships.
