Revise: Liturgies of Life and DeathDuring the commendation of the dying, Bible readings and prayers reassure the person of God’s care. A crucifix may remind them of Christ’s death, while a Litany of the Saints asks the saints to pray for them. The words ‘Go forth, Christian soul, from this world’ entrust the person to God rather than presenting them as abandoned or alone.
