Education in the Christian faith, helping people understand its beliefs and live according to them.
The paragraph says that family catechesis “precedes, accompanies, and enriches other forms of instruction in the faith”. Catechesis means education in Christian faith and life. Teaching at home therefore begins before formal classes and continues alongside them: a parish class does not replace parents' responsibility.
