A Buddha rupa, or image of the Buddha, is often the central feature of a worship hall. A seated Buddha in a meditation pose provides a visible reminder of his example and teachings. Buddhists may bow before the image to express respect and gratitude; this does not mean that they regard the Buddha as a creator god.
An image or statue of the historical Buddha or another being believed to have attained Buddhahood.
