Revise: Allah in Surah al-FatihaThe names al-Rahman and al-Rahim are translated in several closely related ways, including ‘Most Gracious’, ‘Most Merciful’ and ‘Most Compassionate’. Both express Allah’s loving care. A common interpretation associates al-Rahman with mercy towards all creation, including people who do not believe, and al-Rahim with particular mercy towards the faithful, especially in the Hereafter.
