GCSE Religious Studies · key term
The occasion when Allah judges everyone fairly, taking account of their faith, actions and circumstances.
Used by AQA and Eduqas
Paper 1
The time when Allah judges all people for their lives and actions.
Revise: Predestination and FreedomThe Day of Judgement is when Allah judges people for their lives and actions. Human choices therefore have consequences beyond this life: judgement is connected with reward in heaven and punishment in hell.
The day when Allah judges everyone according to how they have lived.
Paper 1, Paper 3
The occasion when Muslims believe Allah will judge people fairly for how they have lived.
Revise: Islamic Morality and ResponsibilityLife is understood as a test, and Muslims believe Allah will judge people fairly on the Day of Judgement. Qur’an 41:46 teaches that whoever does good does so for their own soul, while whoever does evil acts against it, and that Allah is not unjust. This connects personal choice with personal accountability.
When linking free will to the Day of Judgement, explain why responsibility for choices matters, rather than simply naming heaven and hell.
