Revise: Social Learning Theory of CriminalityThe opposite influence is vicarious punishment. Seeing a role model arrested or sent to prison can make imitation less likely because the observer sees negative consequences. Social learning therefore involves observing outcomes, not just copying every action that is witnessed.
