Paper 1
Revise: Types of Energy ResourcesFossil fuels and nuclear fuel belong to this group.
Specification 3.13 · Paper 1
A finite material, such as uranium, from which energy can be released and used, principally to generate electricity.
Fossil fuels—coal, oil and natural gas—and nuclear fuels such as uranium are non-renewable.
Learn the complete groups: non-renewable resources are fossil fuels and nuclear fuel; the other named resources are renewable.
Do not call electricity an energy resource. It is a useful means of transferring energy and must be generated using a resource such as wind, nuclear fuel or natural gas.
Classify nuclear fuel as non-renewable even though a nuclear power station does not burn a fossil fuel.
