Revise: Tumour TreatmentIn external-beam radiotherapy, a machine outside the patient directs high-energy radiation at the tumour. A linear accelerator commonly produces high-energy X-rays or electron beams. The beam enters the body and, for an internal tumour, passes through some healthy tissue before reaching its target.
