Do not say that a dynamo produces a constant potential difference. A simple dynamo produces varying DC: its polarity stays the same, but its size changes.
On a potential difference–time graph, values on opposite sides of zero have opposite polarities. A trace that never crosses zero represents DC, even if its size varies.
