Definition

The circuit carrying blood from the right ventricle to the lungs and back to the left atrium.

Paper 1

Pulmonary circulation links the heart and lungs. The right ventricle pumps blood containing relatively little oxygen to the lungs. There, blood gains oxygen and loses carbon dioxide before returning to the left atrium.
