Revise: Re-presentation and realityRealism means the qualities that make a representation seem believable or close to reality. Recognisable locations, ordinary clothing, familiar speech and plausible behaviour can connect a representation to an audience’s everyday experience. News footage, interviews and explanations can also encourage audiences to trust a portrayal because they appear to provide evidence or informed knowledge.
