A graph that plots paired numerical values as points to show any relationship between two variables.
Revise: OutliersA scatter graph plots two measurements for each item as one point. Look at the overall pattern of points, then ask whether any point sits noticeably away from it. A point can be an outlier because its pair of values does not fit the pattern, even if neither individual value is especially high or low.
On a scatter graph, look for a point that does not fit the overall pattern. Do not assume it is an error or discard it without a reason.
