Specification S3, S4 · Paper 1, Paper 2, Paper 3
Data organised into class intervals rather than listed as individual values.
Revise: Grouped and Continuous DataWhen there are many possible values, the data are often collected into class intervals. This is grouped data: it tells us how many observations lie in each interval, but not their exact values.
Grouped data has been placed into classes, so the individual data values within each class are no longer known.
Grouped data and readings from graphs usually give estimates, so avoid presenting them as exact values.
