Mass per unit of volume.

Revise: Standard UnitsTo convert the density unit itself, both mass and volume conversions matter.
The mass contained in each unit of volume.
Specification 10.01b · Paper 1 (Foundation), Paper 2 (Foundation), Paper 3 (Foundation), Paper 4 (Higher), Paper 5 (Higher), Paper 6 (Higher)
Mass per unit of volume, calculated using density = mass ÷ volume.
Revise: Compound MeasuresDensity is not the same as mass: two objects made from the same uniform material can have different masses but the same density.
Use the units to sense-check a rearrangement. For example, leaves grams, so density multiplied by volume gives mass.
Use the context to check the direction of your answer: for a fixed force, a smaller area produces a greater pressure; for a fixed volume, greater mass produces greater density.
