Revise: Rounding and AccuracyThe required accuracy may be stated explicitly, such as “to 2 decimal places” or “to 3 significant figures”. In a contextual problem, you may instead have to decide what accuracy makes sense.

Revise: Rounding and Error IntervalsMoney is commonly given to two decimal places, while a measured length might be recorded to the nearest centimetre or millimetre. Unless a question instructs you to round during a calculation, keep the full calculator value and round only the final answer; repeated rounding can increase the error.
Underline whether the question asks for decimal places, significant figures or a contextual degree of accuracy before rounding.
Underline the required accuracy before rounding: decimal places and significant figures are not the same.
Preserve zeros that show the requested accuracy: for example, is written to two decimal places.
