Paper 2
Revise: Tarquinius Superbus: Tyranny and Military RecordLucius Tarquinius Superbus, usually called Tarquin the Proud, was traditionally Rome’s seventh and last king, reigning from about 535 to 509 BC. He followed Servius Tullius and belonged to Rome’s Etruscan royal dynasty. His reign presents an important distinction: a ruler could increase Rome’s power abroad while governing oppressively at home.
