Revise: Campaigns for the voteIn 1897, Millicent Fawcett brought together several campaigning societies to form the National Union of Women’s Suffrage Societies (NUWSS). Its members became known as suffragists. They used strictly lawful, non-violent methods, including leaflets, rallies and marches, and tried to persuade MPs from different political parties to support women’s suffrage in Parliament.
