Revise: Government and JusticeThe Third Statute of Westminster, 1290, also called Quia Emptores, stopped subinfeudation. Under feudal landholding, a tenant held land from a lord. Subinfeudation occurred when that tenant granted land to a new tenant beneath them, creating another layer of lordship.
