Paper 1
Revise: Development of TensionIn April 1935, Britain, France and Italy met at Stresa in Italy. They formed the Stresa Front, condemning German rearmament and agreeing to resist further attempts to change the peace settlement.
Explain significance through consequences: the Naval Agreement weakened the Stresa Front because Britain accepted German rearmament while its partners were trying to oppose it.
Keep the sequence clear: Dollfuss Affair in 1934; Saar vote in January, rearmament in March, Stresa Front in April and Naval Agreement in June 1935.
