Standardised packaging

Standardised packaging removed promotional logos and graphics and gave packs a uniform appearance, reducing opportunities to make smoking seem appealing. It was introduced across the UK in May 2016, with a transition period allowing old stock to be sold until May 2017. These measures combined warnings about harm with restrictions on commercial promotion.
