Revise: Hitler and the Nazi PartyOther important figures included Heinrich Himmler, who led the SS, originally Hitler’s elite bodyguard, and Rudolf Hess, who worked in party organisation and administration. Wilhelm Frick and Hermann Göring would join Hitler in the new government. The party was therefore more than a collection of voters: it possessed leadership, propaganda machinery and organised forces on the streets.
