Pseudo-Xenophon

The Constitution of the Athenians attributed to Pseudo-Xenophon is usually called the work of the Old Oligarch. This is a conventional label, not the author’s known name. Its prescribed sections, 1.2–1.3, explain the relationship between Athenian naval power and the political position of poorer citizens.
