Power-sharing

The Northern Ireland Act 1998, associated with the Good Friday Agreement, established the Northern Ireland Assembly. Its devolved responsibilities included health and education. Its distinctive feature was power-sharing between different political communities, intended to secure representation and reduce conflict.
