Component 1
Revise: Religious Problems and SettlementsThe Religious Settlement of 1559 is often described as the Middle Way. It made the Church of England Protestant and independent of Rome, but retained some features familiar to Catholics.
Explain why each compromise might appeal to a particular group. Naming vestments or English services alone does not explain the Middle Way.
