Revise: Invasion of WalesNative Welsh princes ruled some territories, while Anglo-Norman Marcher lords controlled others. The strongest native principality was Gwynedd in north Wales, ruled by Llywelyn ap Gruffudd, also known as Llywelyn the Last. Other Welsh princes acknowledged his overlordship, although not all welcomed it.
