Revise: English Reformation c.1520–c.1535The Lollards followed ideas associated with John Wycliffe, a fourteenth-century English scholar. Their beliefs varied, but a central principle was that the Bible should be the measure of religious teaching. They supported access to scripture in English, allowing people to engage with it rather than depending entirely on clerical interpretation.
