Revise: Jewish communitiesBy about 1250, Jewish communities had been established in England for generations. Jews arrived following the Norman Conquest of 1066. During William Rufus’s reign, 1087–1100, they appear to have been encouraged to migrate from Normandy to provide financial services for the government.
