Hurricane bombardment

A hurricane bombardment lasting about five hours struck the British positions. Artillery and gas disrupted the defenders before specially trained stormtroopers advanced. These troops moved rapidly through weak points, bypassing strong positions rather than stopping to capture every defended trench.
