Mounted soldiers who use bows, combining missile attacks with rapid movement.

Turkish horse archers used their mobility to surround and harass the crusaders. They could ride towards the enemy, shoot arrows and withdraw before being drawn into close combat. This allowed them to attack repeatedly without accepting a direct clash on the crusaders’ terms.
