Revise: Wolsey's Rise and PoliciesWolsey accumulated offices in both government and the Church. He became Archbishop of York in 1514, then Lord Chancellor and a cardinal in 1515. As Lord Chancellor, he oversaw the legal system and the use of the Great Seal, which authenticated official royal documents.
