Revise: Elizabethan Warfare and Border SocietyBorder reivers were raiders organised around kinship groups, including the Armstrongs, Elliots, Grahams and Scotts. They stole livestock and goods, kidnapped people and pursued long-running feuds. Reiving was not simply Scots attacking English people: neighbours could raid neighbours, and family connections and cooperation could cross the national boundary.
