Revise: Causes of Climate ChangePlants take in carbon dioxide during photosynthesis. Using sunlight, they combine it with water to make sugars, which help build roots, stems and leaves. Carbon has moved from the atmosphere into vegetation.
Explain both effects of deforestation: carbon is released through burning or decay, and fewer trees remain to remove carbon dioxide through photosynthesis.
