Revise: Urban Sprawl and Regeneration ProjectsBuilding on greenfield land provides new housing and workplaces, but changes the land’s use: farmland or habitat becomes buildings, roads and parking areas. The countryside can become more fragmented, and nearby residents may lose open views or access to green space. There is therefore a conflict between meeting development needs and protecting the rural environment.
