Air mass

Winds can arrive from other directions and bring different air masses. Tropical maritime air brings relatively warm, moist conditions; polar maritime air brings colder, moist conditions. Continental air has travelled over land and is generally drier: air from continental Europe can bring summer heat or winter cold.
